Gerhard Rules.

What else can you say.

If you have been watching this as his site, you know he is neck-deep in one of my crazy projects. I wanted an artistic interpretation, done at a 48" x 48" scale, of a 15th Century Medieval tapestry whose legend I adore. And this because I am going to have this reproduced, at 48" x 48", by some Chinese silk-weaving masters.

In reverse order:
a close up...

the entire black and white image...

a quick yet stunning color-fill...

and the photograph of the original tapestry...

May 11, 2012 I wuz thinkin'

When I fly, I always go for the exit row. I like that extra breathing room. I hope you do not mind that your life could be in my hands, because the flight attendants ask me all the time "Are you willing to assist in the event of an emergency?" and I always enthusiastically reply with my verbal "yes." Plus, I get to be the first or second one out the door. And most of the time I think about how I might open the door, but I have to admit that it is a little intimidating to think I might screw it up. Which leads to me to this simple idea: why in the heck don't airports have mock-up simulator doors for people to play/practice with? I would totally do that, just for the experience... wouldn't you? Anyone know anyone in the airline industry?

May 2, 2012 Cerebus, Avengers, Darren

(1) Not an auction:
Cerebus 22 p 5
private sale
$400

(2) I might have seen the Avengers movie yesterday (not that I would ever EVER visit a streaming site where one might do such a thing... and not that it reduce by a penny my interesting in seeing this in the theater). It might be quite as good as the reviews suggest. Totally chuckle-icious moments include one with Hulk and Thor (you'll know it), Hulk and Loki (you'll know it), Widow and Loki (well written).

(3) I like everything that Darren Hayes does, and always have. The new album (whatever meaning that term has) is really good. From "Secret Codes and Battleships" ... "talk talk talk" (good song, somewhat goofy video)
